Information Technology:

The present age is called the age of information. Information is considered the most critical factor in the development of a nation. Hence, information technology can be the key to making Bangladesh into a developed country.

Information technology(IT) is the technology or devices related with the collection, processing, arrangement, management and transfer of information. This technology uses computer, internet, telephone system and satellite as a global system.

The importance of IT is immense in the context of present modern world. Now information is considered the key factor for the development of a country. Commerce and industries rely on information for making their production and sales plans. International trade also largely depends on information. Information regarding demand and supply of certain products in different parts of the world may determine the export and import of those products in those areas.

This is a matter of hope that the flow of information technology has reached Bangladesh. Now almost every university of the country offers courses on information technology. There are also many business firms working vigorously in the field of information technology in Bangladesh.

There is no doubt that we are lagging behind in this field. Both the Government and the private sectors need to come forward for developing Bangladesh in this field.
