Thank you @kareemah. I'm not sure but I would say you're probably correct and if not that then my next vote would be obtusa. Apparently hybrids between rubra and obtusa have the rounded petals. Good question. And the smell... medium bodied succulent sweetness. Not as strong and overwhelming as some but very beautiful in it's own right. So good!
They are very elegant in their shape. I have one as well. They aren't the strongest in the scent department but make up for it in uniqueness. There are others for the scent championships. So many to choose from.

I have a plumeria pudica in my yard. Lots of lovely flowers but it doesn't have the classic strong fragrance.
