The long stare says a lot

This morning, I saw a man with lost limbs and the second I saw him, I see the person walking next to me looking at him continuously, giving him a stare. I felt so uneasy. I know that stare. And I hate it. I know what it does to the person.

And I realise how many a times, when we come across something unusual, we give them a long stare, showing pity and judgement to them. I know how it makes the person feel. How I know the stare ? I myself had got unusual foots. Yes, I have those usual 5 toes that everybody has but they are kind of arranged in a more chaotic way. So whenever I am bare feet, I can always feel people's eye on them . In my childhood, I was so terrified of exposing my feet that I have always worn shoes and nothing else. Then with time I gained enough confidence though but sometimes people never seize to make me conscious.

Even we all that experience that I had, I reflected that I did the same to the people around me. If I see someone unusual, I would also have give them a long good stare as trying to figure out what's wrong and what could be done. And the things that is needed to be thought about it, alot of us are doing it without any wrong intention

It's not that we want them to feel less of themselves, feel bad of themselves or anything. We are stuck in our pity that we feel for that person but we somehow some consciously causing the person to think about it.

If you feel, you are non judgmental or if you think you are already doing it and don't actually want to do so, stop what you have been doing from so long. Give them a normal look, don't stare at them even if you want to. That's such a small thing but makes a huge difference.

Remember, It's not just a stare. It's a tool to damage someone's confidence and their soul.Use that tool wisely. You look at them and that's the message you send them. Next time, you do that, send a positive warm message.
