DREAM SERIES: #1 Boat Rollercoaster

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

Background:

So all throughout my life I have always had extremely vivid and strange dreams. I wake up from them wanting to tell someone, or to look up what it could mean. I thought this would be a great place to share these stories. I hope you enjoy reading them!

Boat rollercoaster

I start out on my boat the sky above me clear and sunny; just a few fluffy clouds are present in the sky. My boat is this big beautiful light chestnut color, all wooden and lacquer polished. Cream colored sails propel me forward to my destination, the theme park. The channel I’m currently in has no other boats besides me but when I look to my left and right I can see all different kinds of boats all heading in the same direction as me. We all slowly converge into one large river; all the boats start to line up as we begin entering the theme park.

All off the rides are different versions of the same thing, a roller coaster track that your boat connects too. The river narrows slightly turning it into a lazy river with fake waterfalls and random spots that bubble up. I was so excited that my turn was approaching I had wanted to bring my boat here for the longest time. I round the last corner before my boat would connect to the track, when I head a horrible scraping noise. I run to the edge and peer over and find that my boat is getting stuck on the last turn, the scraping continues as the water behind me tries to propel us forward. Slowly we become unstuck but something doesn’t feel right I find myself slightly leaning to one side. My boat is starting to tip over!

Panic and embarrassment course though me. I didn’t want to me to be that person who held up the line because her boat decided to have a mind of its own. It was nearly sideways at this point and I had no other option but to jump out and find someone to help me. I sprinted along the sidewalk looking for anyone who would know what to do. I see people gasping and pointing their fingers in the direction I had just come from. I whip my head around to see that my boat had gotten itself free and had continued to awkwardly float down the river to the point of the ride where it connects to the tracks. To my horror I hear the click click click signaling that the boat somehow connected and began to slowly make its way up the steep tracks to prepare for that first deep plunge down.

My boat couldn’t be connected properly; I sprinted back and started urging my body forward, up the metal side steps that jutted out beside the track. I was so close to my boat, I kept yelling for someone to come help me. As if like magic a worker appeared behind me and assured me they would make sure no harm came to my boat. I told the worker how long I had waited to get here and that I still wanted to be able to experience the boat coaster.

The next boat that made its way up was a boat that the amusement park owned and in it was one other girl. I thanked her for letting me ride with her and she explained that the same thing happened to her boat so I shouldn’t feel bad or embarrassed. The ride was amazing and thrilling and everything I had hoped it would be.
