“The Bullet Train” first amazed the world in 1964 at the Tokio Olympics. It rushed at the speed of 130 miles per hour. Today the new Shinkansen trains beat all the records — reaching a maximum speed of 375 miles per hour during trial runs. JP Central plans to release these trains by 2027. It will become possible to cover the distance of 174 miles in 40 minutes or less.
