let's talk about João Félix..

I need to vent about this guy:

Seems like nobody understand what this footballer is. People even calling him a flop. He was never the type of player that you put into a struggling team to make it better. More often then not, those players are not even the most proficient technically, but fighters, runners, hardmen. Every once in a while they are also gifted with brilliant feet, but there aren't many of those.

Félix is the player you put in a working team to take you to the next level. You can argue it's his mentality that doesn't allow him to do that. I would say he is a bit of a spoiled kid. But I don't even know the guy. I just know how he became a wonderkid:

Scored 22 goals and provided 9 assists, in his debut year. Helping Benfica reduce a 10 point diference to the 1 st place and ending up winning the portuguese league. He had 5 goals as a winger in the first half of that season. A very promising player, he was only 18. But then the manager was sacked, and the coach from Benfica B team assumed. Mr. Bruno Lage, former Wolverhampton manager, someone that knew Félix from the youth team. And he placed him behind our main striker, Jonas. Félix then proceeded to score 17 goals in a couple of months becoming the worlds most expensive transfer after that.

He is not a piano carrier, not your classic number 10 (do they still exist?), he is not a winger (althou he does good in the position) he is a second striker, HE IS PROLIFIC GOAL SCORER, yes, I said it. For those who say he is a goaless striker. Forget about his dribbling and great first touch, what he does best is finishing, (or it used to be). He can score from outside the box, headers, tap ins, you name it. This is how he became a wonder kid, not by going past 5 opponents, not for his play making and giving 20 assists, not as a winger, or attacking midfielder, not for his tackles and possession recovery, but infront of goal!

Yes, as a spoiled millionaire kid that is getting paid a fortune every week to perform for you club week in week out, you should do your best to adapt to the exigencies of the manager. But don't expect him to get the same results, in a diferent system, playing a diferent position, that won't happen with any player, maybe the two nutters of the ball we know, that have been going for 18 years now, those two could do it. Not any other player.

Yes he hasn't been showing his goal scoring ability for the logical reasons I mentioned before, most likely the pressure of being a super expensive player trying to do his best to gain respect in Spain, and to stay at Chelsea. I believe he is desperate to be bought. He came in to his first Chelsea game looking like he was the captain there for 5 years. Other then that we don't know what is going on in his personal life.

He will be turning 24 soon. If he doesn't show his real talent during the next year, I believe he will be one of those many talents that were forever lost.

I don't even like Chelsea, but I do hope he stays at the club and they start to play good, for this guy.

He hasn't been that bad this season. 649 minutes in La liga 4 goals and 3 assists. 812 minutes in the Premier League 3 goals( and a bunch of posts hits) This is not bad for a team full of new players and without synergy.
