Old Friends Are Good But New Friends Are Better

Hi

Social media has done a lot of good
Things, their platforms that has allowed us to share our life experiences with our relatives, friends, colleagues, with people we share same interest, career, opinions, faith, ambitions, political affiliation and the world at large.

It has helped us also to connect with people from any conner of the world and share with them a strong bond as if we have ever met physically. Some have even been able to meet their better half from a different part of the world through social media. It is a good thing.

Social media as been able also to reconnect us with some old friends, schoolmates, workmates etc. Some of these friends and mates have created groups online, and they keep sharing their lives and being there for each other in times of joy, like birthday's, wedding and other social activities. Of which it is a good thing.

Nevertheless personally, I would like people to be more cautious on this business of reconnecting. Most of the time when people reconnect they just do the normal social things together and that's all. And in the process majority stagnate, sometimes a rat race begin. People begins measuring everything according to their friends. It could be success, academics and family.

You begin comparing among yourselves, but none of you has a courage speak it audibly. Some may feel motivated to work hard also that they may acquire more, but the more their thinking about is more according to so and so in the group. They aspire to be like so and so or achieve, more than any one in that group, all these are low standard.

In this rat race you may become stressed, dejected, insecure, a failure and evil. You may abandon your dream and the inner you, to achieve what cannot satisfy the true you but for the group to see "hey! I made it".

Listen to me you are made for more, satisfaction and to be you. You deserve more than what your old friends may have achieved.

So go for more be more.

To achieve that you need knew friends, new challenges and new atmosphere. Do not let the old good friends keep you from going for the great future. They say you better be at the bottom of the great than at the top of the amateurs.

Learn to be uncomfortable, it is an important part of the process of growth and success. The old friends will never make you uncomfortable in a good way.

Go to the people who do not know you, go and live where nobody knows anything about you, where you're not paranoid about the process you're going through and the progress you make.

You're mindset and you're attitude will change and when that happens, you will dare for big things which have no reference from your old friends.

Please do not misjudge me, I do not mean we should neglect our old friends, but what I mean is, we should be more careful. Otherwise we may find ourselves regressing instead of progressing. Because we want to keep old friends around or to remain among the old friends. Loosing your old friends sometimes is a neccesary part of the process of getting further and achieving more out of yourself and life.

Thank you for your time.
