Literature in its wholeness touches the whole of human life. Literary work in its form contains various aspects of the dimension of human life. It includes not only one element of civilization and culture, but all the elements that accompany the role of man in the world as the performer in that civilization.

In a part of human life, literature is a form of necessity that is essentially needed in leading to the human taste. Literature is one of the paths to truth, with other fields running beside it such as religion, philosophy, and science.

Literary works bring people to an understanding of the values of life by engaging us to uncover the existence of this realm with its creator. Literature can communicate it all with God as its creator. The man with his literary work seeks to expose the greatness of his creator through this realm with all the secrets contained therein.

One form of literary work is poetry, poetry is growing well. This can be seen by the large number of poetry published in mass media such as, in cultural magazines, popular general magazines, news reports, and even other magazines. Poetry as a product of literature can be used as an alternative to sharpening the mind and human heart, as well as an alternative to mature human morale. Because in the body of the poem contained all-round multiplicity values. There are bad grades-well, light-dark, heavy-light, tasty and uncomfortable, communicative or not. But what is preferred is the quality of the shape. In simple poetry, man can still get a good wisdom.

In general understanding of literature is a work of art that uses language as its medium. He created the author into a kind of aesthetic activity dedicated to the community to enjoy. Because literature basically reveals life in its entirety inwardly.

The form of literary works that use the words as the medium that emphasizes the element of feeling as a result of living the totality of life that is reflected by the creator with all his personality, his thoughts, his feelings, his will and so on. Poetry is, in reality, a variety of styles and streams it embraces. To determine a poem is good or bad, cannot be determined by judging from one side only. Many poets are of the view that good poetry is a poem in the middle between light and dark. This means that the poem in the eyes of the audience is not difficult to dive, but also not too easy, not light, and not naked as it is.
