Thoughts On The Pineal Gland

For those that don't know, the pineal gland releases dmt when we dream and when we die. It is the spirit molecule, as they say. It enables one to separate from the body.

So there's something I've been wondering about...

Is dmt necessary for our consciousness to leave our body? If it's not released, is the process interrupted or halted? If someone is shot in the head, right through the pineal gland, is his death different from someone who died with their pineal gland intact?
