TRAVEL ADVENTURES: To Blog or not to Blog????

in #blog7 years ago

My first adult job was as a Travel Consultant which had benefits of free “working” trips and incredible discounts when I wanted a personal holiday, how lucky I had got! In no time I had the travel bug which has lead me to spend the last 10 years trying to travel the world on any spare time I got. I’ve been lucky enough to have visited so many awesome spots but I have always done a very poor job of documenting my time away. Something I now regret.
Poor quality photographs were always taken on one of the many phones I went through during my 20’s, some being uploaded on Facebook but most being lost when that phone was broken, lost or stolen. My parents always encouraged me to keep a travel dairy but I never got around to it. After a few holidays up my sleeve, I figured it was too late to start so continued along visiting new countries and making awesome memories but noting nothing down.

Travel blogging always interested me and were always a huge help in planning upcoming journeys but the idea of doing this myself FREAKED me out. Good blogs always read so effortlessly but when I tried to put pen to paper I found my writing just seemed like I was trying waaayyyy too hard. So I wouldn’t write. And that was fine because I didn’t really think it was that important.

Then I found STEEM!

While researching crypto currencies, I heard about STEEM through @jerrybanfield YouTube videos. I'm blown away by how cool a community it is that I've found. At 28, I've grown up on Facebook, by no means am I a FB user that contributes to the FB community much, I rarely comment or like posts. I upload substandard pictures of my latest holiday as mentioned before and use it as a tool to keep in touch with friends and family but that would be it. I enjoy seeing pictures of my loved ones lives posted but this now can be found a lot quicker on Instagram without having to wade through all the shit that comes up on Facebook now days.

STEEM seems different, people care here, the majority of the content is good and when it isn’t people don’t seem to be judging. And not to mention you can be getting PAID for it!!!

This seems like a perfect place to try blogging out. It doesn’t matter if I'm no good at it, people will either read it or they wont. I could possibly make a couple bucks if someone likes what Im saying and if not I might be able to pick up a few pointers from other bloggers along the way.

I have just finished a holiday with my parents and my niece to Far North Queensland in Australia and I’m going to make it my mission to start documenting. With improved pictures and all!

Fuck it, to blog I say!!
