In a general concept, depression ... "It is a frequent mental disorder, characterized by the presence of sadness, loss of interest or pleasure, feelings of guilt or lack of self-esteem, sleep or appetite disorders, feeling tired and lack of concentration. "

Depression is usually caused by the interaction of certain biological factors, such as hormonal changes, alterations in brain neurotransmitters (serotonin, noradrenaline and dopamine, genetic components, etc); with psychosocial factors, such as stressful situations in the affective, work life; and personality; although there are also some cases of depression associated with organic diseases, such as Parkinson's, tuberculosis, etc.

Some of the symptoms of depression "are the pathological sadness, the loss of interest and the ability to enjoy, and a dexperimentarla vitality that limits the level of activity and produces an exaggerated fatigue, which appears even after making small efforts.

In addition, other symptoms may appear, such as feelings of guilt or incapacity, irritability, pessimism about the future, ideas of death or suicide, loss of confidence in oneself or others, decreased concentration and memory, restlessness, sleep disorders and decreased appetite and libido, among others. Currently, depression is not a foreign issue, but it is increasingly common to talk about it, but that does not mean it is a simple topic to address for those who are fighting against it, or know someone who is doing it. .
Each person has a unique way of seeing life, and so does depression; although there are similarities ... Two people will not experience it in the same way, they will not feel exactly the same.

Sometimes it is not easy to ask for help, especially because of the harshness, the prejudices of society around depression, where many think it is the worst, something "contagious" or "disgusting". There is the fear of being labeled "crazy", "sick", of loved ones changing their way of looking at them, treating them ... And that silence, unfortunately, sometimes, is expensive, because a depression can lead someone to put an end to his life.

We could say "you're not alone", Do you really think that could work?

Here you can find a list of phrases that you should NOT tell someone with depression, and some tips to help you:

It is simple for the healthy to give advice to the patient, right? But, if for a moment, just a moment, we experienced what that person ... How different would it be, right?.
If instead of judging we start to be more tolerant, to listen to those who matter to us, or to whoever seems to be in a bad situation (doing that from time to time would not kill us), and helping them ... What a great change we would make in their lives , in ours.

Enough of criticism, that initiate the actions.
Find out if you know someone who is struggling with depression, or if you are doing it ... Remember ... You're never alone, even if you do not have the same problems ... "There's always a break for a rip-off" , and we can be accompanied in that solitude.

If you want to share your opinion, or some experience ... Go ahead!. I read you!

It is true that "Together we are more", and put an end to this dysfunctional society.
