Is entrepreneurship for you?
This is probably the most difficult question for a teenager in today’s world where everyday a new entrepreneur is born and does some crazy things and a lot of people are intimidated by this and they take up entrepreneurship before knowing/studying it completely and they probably fail or give up easily so how to know if entrepreneurship is for you keep reading and you will find it out.
Starting your own business can be an exciting and rewarding experience. It can offer numerous advantages, such as being your own boss, setting your own schedule and making a living doing something you enjoy. But becoming a successful entrepreneur requires a lot of hard work and sacrifices than it is shown on TV. Here are some points you should keep in mind before choosing entrepreneurship as a carrier(there are a lot of other things to consider but these are the top things to consider first).
- Job security
This is the biggest difference between having a business and working for someone is your job security. While you are running your own business you have the fear of going out of business at every stage but when you work for someone they give you job surety and back you up for losses. This is the part where many entrepreneurial journeys end because they doubt themselves and their product. - Pay
This is also a place where a regular job gets a head up as you are expected to get a fixed pay at the end of every month, but in a business it is a completely different story one month you may make a million dollar and the next month you are in bank debt. There is a lot of uncertainty in the pay you get to keep at the end of month when you own a business. But keep in mind unlike a regular job in a business you can earn any amount of money by doing the hardwork.
- Time
This is a bit controversial topic as some like the 9 to 5 while others hate it and think that entrepreneurship is their escape but it is not true in fact you will have to work even harder and longer if you choose to become an entrepreneur. Elon musk the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX works 120 hours per week which is close to 17 hours per day. Garyvee works 12 hours a day 7 days a week pursuing his dreams, and almost all the entrepreneurs work harder and longer than a regular 9-5 job employee. - Vacations
This is the most upsetting part people think when you are your own boss you get to do whatever you want and can take any number of vacations but the truth is vacations is only for employees, an entrepreneur hardly takes any vacations or weekends for that matter because he is busy working for his future. Are you willing to make this is a big sacrifice? - Retirements
Another important factor to keep in mind before choosing entrepreneurship is retirements unlike corporate jobs you will have to work for your retirement on your own and plan your savings. While jobs give you retirement benefits ask yourself do you want to live on $500 a month after you turn 60 for the rest of your life.
And that’s it, still think entrepreneurship is easy. This is the only reason why there are 7.6 billion people in this world and only 400 million are entrepreneurs. After reading this you should not be discouraged as entrepreneurship is not made for everyone and living a normal life is okay, there are a lot of other professions out there to choose from so don’t worry you will find your passion just keep looking for it. That’s it for now, until next time. Peace out!
