Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi termed 'Beti Bachao, Beti Pachao' scheme as a major success of its ministry on Wednesday and said that no plan of social change anywhere in the world was brought to the ground level in such a short time. . On the occasion of the completion of 4 years of Narendra Modi's government, Maneka mentioned the achievements of her ministry and the impact of various schemes related to women and child development. He also said that under his leadership, this Ministry has become more relevant, stronger and necessary as per the requirements and there have been major changes in the context of policies too.

Referring to the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Practice' scheme, which started in January 2015, the minister said, 'This is a great achievement. No plan related to social change has been implemented in such a short time anywhere in the world. We are fighting against dowry for 70 years, but we could not achieve the goal. We have had great success in the Beti Bachao Yojna. ' He said, 'We have selected 100 districts and 61 of them have seen improvement in sex ratio. This progress has now been seen in 119 districts. Significantly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 'Beti Bachao, Beti Practice' scheme from Haryana on January 22, 2015.

Maneka said, "We have made the Ministry of Women and Child Development relevant and relevant to the needs of the people. It has become a strong ministry. This is a huge achievement. " The minister mentioned the 'National Women Policy', 'Prime Minister Matru Vandana Yojana', One Stop Center (Sakhi), 181-Women Helpline, e-box, She-box and many other plans and steps.

Maneka said that in order to ensure early punishment in cases of sexual harassment, the forensic laboratory has been started in Chandigarh and such other laboratories will be established in Pune, Bhopal, Chennai, Mumbai and Guwahati this year. While advocating for 33 per cent reservation for women in the appointment of the Police Department, Maneka said that so far 17 states / Union Territories have given consent to it.
