14 Dr.'s Advice Shigeaki Hinohara

in #blog7 years ago

Dr. Shigeaki Hinohara is not an ordinary doctor. He is Japan's national asset! Born in 1911, he was 105 this year, 2016. He is probably the oldest and oldest doctor and educator in the world. Dr.Hinohara has published over 150 books, one of which is the best-seller "Living Long, Living Good" which sold over 1.2 million copies. This is a refreshing protocol from Dr. Hinohara on life with long and happy life, different from the healthy lifestyle guides in general.

  1. "Energy Comes primarily from good feelings."
Children often have fun to forget to eat or sleep. We must imitate the children, reducing rules such as mealtimes and bedtime. Have more fun!

  2. "Do not Overweight."
Long-life people are not overweight. Dr.Hinohara is careful with his food. For breakfast, he drinks coffee & milk, orange juice + 1 tablespoon olive oil. He believes olives are great for arteries & skin health. For lunch, he drinks milk with some cake or none at all if it is very busy. For dinner, he chose vegetables, fish & rice. And twice a week, he 'presents' himself with 100g of meat.

  3. "Always Make A Plan Forward."
Dr.Hinohara always makes a year's schedule, with lectures, hospital work, and meetings. He likes to entertain himself and plan to attend the Tokyo Olympics in 2020!

  4. "You Do not Have to Retire."
If you want to retire, do it at an older age, not at age 65.

  5. "Share What You Know."
Dr.Hinohara provides 150 lectures a year, some even for elementary school children and the business community. He gave lectures while standing up to 90 minutes. He believed standing up made him strong.

  6. "Do not Believe Everything Your Doctor Said / Recommended."
Doctors can not cure everyone. Try asking if your doctor will suggest the person he loves through the procedure he suggests to you. Why cause unnecessary pain and suffering for the patient?

  7. "To Stay Healthy, Take Stairs Than Elevators And Take Your Own Items."
This is a form of leg training and thigh muscles.

  8. "Look for Inspiration."
Dr.Hinohara is inspired by Robert Browning's poem "Abt Vogler" which suggests planning something big even you can not finish it while still alive.

  9. "Pain is Mysterious."
Try to overcome the pain by forgetting it. If a child has a toothache, and you invite him to play, he will soon forget his pain. In Dr.Hinohara's hospital, there is music therapy and art classes.

  10. "Do not Drunk With Matter."
No one knows how long you live, and you can not bring anything when you die.

  11. "Science Can not Cure People."
Science treats everyone equally, whereas disease is individual. To be able to heal a person, doctors need to be more liberal and visual.

  12. "Life Is Unpredictable And Full Of Incidents."
When he was 59, Dr. Hinohara was on a hijacked plane. He was handcuffed 4 days in his seat under 40-degree heat. He regarded it as an experiment and was amazed how his body adapted to the crisis situation.

  13. "Seek Model Roles."
One of Dr. Hinohara was his father who went to America in 1900 to study at Duke University. We must have a goal to achieve more than 'can' be achieved.

  14. "The Old Life Is So Exciting."
In old age, we must try to serve the community. From the age of 65, Dr.Hinohara has worked as a volunteer. He is still active 18 hours a day, seven days a week, and he enjoys every minute of his life.
