You obviously missed my post about my cat dying ;) That was an exception as I don't post about family things much here, but that's partly because you have no control over who can see it. I hardly post to Facebook these days. I have a habit of blocking a lot of what others post there.
I don't have a single thing to post about, so I just tend to blog about whatever I think people will enjoy.
It's possible steemit will become more like Facebook as it grows, but I hope it will still be useful for creative people like you.
(marks Steve's cat dying down on the grid) yeah, it may get deleted briefly as more people from FB show up. But the things and ways people interact here should be enough of a barrier to discourage them from that crap pretty quickly
