Mario & Zelda Art!

This past weekend I was at California Extreme, and man was it a lot of fun! In case you're wondering, California Extreme is an annual arcade expo in (where else?) California. There's tons of pinball machines and arcade games and, as you can probably guess, plenty of video game paraphernalia. Most of it seemed like the usual deal, until I came across these:

I mean, they're just so cool right?! The centerpiece mirror is like Link meets rain meets pride meets Hamilton promo art, and it's just so colorful and decorative that I couldn't resist picking it up. And the castles... they're just really thematic, especially the one with boo!

These were made by Krystal of GlueGunGarage (seems like a new business since the site doesn't have much on it and the social accounts are all new). She had a lot of her works for sale at the show including some neat small chests and buttons and other things. I didn't think to grab a picture, but you can see some of it on her IG page.

Bonus! The show has some pretty rare arcade games, and the past couple years have featured a pinball machine called Kingpin. Here's me standing in front of it:

This is only one of 9 machines that were ever made, so it's incredibly rare. Oddly enough though, it's not the rarest machine I've played - that honor belongs to Pinball Circus, of which only 2 were ever made and the only place you can actually play it is the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.
