RE: Do you have AUTHORITY? Do you want more QUALITY?

in #blogging7 years ago (edited)

We thank you for this post!

:P

I was just scrolling down my feed and saw this post and nobyeni's and thought it's strange how the titles look similar, but now I see this is intentional.

When they teach writing at school they usually tell you to avoid the "I", and that may be part of the reason for the popularity of the "we". The "we" also strikes a more objective chord, it seems, more impersonal, more newspaper-like, so a reporter will often prefer it.

My writing (especially the philosophy stuff I used to write) is often very individualistic and I employ the "I", but this mode of expression is often frowned upon.

another sassy one!

I just answered nobyeni on her reply on her blog site. Pls have a look and upvote, Sir :-) LOL

Thank you, another explanation for "we"-using, which I also experienced. Subjectivity doesn't have a good image.

As I am taking my own subjectivity higher than other peoples subjectivity it is okay for me and naturally of more quality - when other people claim the same for them, of course I frown upon that. HaHaHa!!!! Okay, jokes aside.

"we" often has the touch of being lectured. When a lecture comes uninvited ("delivery without an order", my man calls it) than I should better use the "I".
