Blood cancer can be categorised into three main group
- Leukaemia
- Lymphoma
- Myeloma
Leukaemia: It is the cancer of the white blood cells. In leukaemia cancer , bone marrow produced an abnormal number of immature white blood cells with uncontrollable growth.
There are four types of leukaemia :-
- Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL)
- Acute myclogenous leukaemia (AML)
- Chronic myclogenous leukaemia (CML)
- Chronic lymphocytic leukaemina (CLL)
Lymphoma: It is the cancer that affects lymphatic system. This system is important to fight infection and pathogens in human body. In lymphoma, body produces abnormal number of lymphocytes with much longer life span than normal cells. This overloads affect functioning of immune system. It can be developed in the body parts such as lymph nodes, spleen, bone marrow etc.
It is of two types:- - Non - Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL)
- Hodgkin Lymphoma
Myeloma:
It is the cancer of plasma cells. It is also known as multiple myeloma. Usually plasma cells are found in bone marrow and produce antibodies for fighting an infection.

Chemotherapy: The treatment with the use of anti cancer drugs in different combination. These drugs interfere with the functioning of cancerous cells and stop their growth. It is given before a Stem cell transplantation. Chemotherapy has some side effects as well such as nausea hair loss fatigueness etc.
Radio therapy: it is the method of Passing high energy X rays through effected area of patient's body to destroy cancer cells. It is also given to patient before any transplantation such as Stem cells, bone marrow or cord blood transplantation.
