This will be the first in a series giving you all the back story to the new 2-4 player vs player RPG mining game.

In this post we will tell you about Mobar Bloodhand.....thief.jpg

Morbar Bloodhand
Class: Thief

“The fastest way to get rich is to let others dig out what’s already yours.”

The Bloodhands are among the youngest of the dwarven clans, but quickly became one of their most infamous. Where the other great families who inhabit the treacherous mines of Stonewatch rely on their strength of arms and the sweat of their brows to enrichen themselves, they know all too well they must continually sleep with one eye open. Many a dwarf has lain his head down at night, only to be rewarded for his hard labor with a slit throat and stolen coin purse. For where there is gold, the greedy fingers of the Bloodhands are never far away, always waiting for an opportune moment to snatch it up.

So despised are they, that it is said in the great dwarven kingdom there are only two concepts which all the other clans can agree on: with wealth comes power, and the only good Bloodhand is a dead one.

But perhaps that is about to change. The Great War brought with it much upheaval, but with upheaval comes the potential for opportunity.

Morbar Bloodhand, second son of Ogdon, clan patriarch, knows such an opportunity when he sees it. In the days following the end of the war, his oldest brother, Belcher, was caught and subsequently hung for his crimes, proving what Morbar suspected all along of him: for all his boasting, his mouth was ultimately faster than his feet.

While those of softer heart have taken the time to mourn the passing of Ogdon’s heir, Morbar is quick to see the opening his brother’s death left for him.

The war has left the other clans in disarray, making them easy pickings. Best yet, the slaying of Gildor Irongaard means the Stone Throne is vacant. With Morbar now positioned as his family’s rightful heir, he realizes it is finally time for his clan to step out from the shadows and force the others to give them the respect they have been denied. He plans to be the architect of their ascension, as well as its main beneficiary.

Word has reached Morbar’s ear that others are seeking The Father’s Gift, a vein of ore so rich it’s said that an army of dwarves working for a thousand years couldn’t mine it all. It lies somewhere below, lost in the fathomless tunnels of Stonewatch that were collapsed during the Great War. Despite the danger, heroes have stepped forward to venture down, seeking to rediscover this treasure beyond measure, knowing that limitless glory will be heaped upon the shoulder of whomever can reclaim it – up to and including the throne.

Morbar’s plan is simple: let them do the dirty work for him. Then, when their weary bones call for rest, he can slip in. With his father’s stolen dagger in hand, he can easily claim what is rightfully his. After all, if there are no witnesses, then there will be no one to dispute his claim to the Stone Throne.

And should his father attempt to claim that glory for himself, well, then perhaps it will be time for Morbar to teach him that his throat can be slit just as surely as any other’s.

A thief today, a king tomorrow. Destiny waits for Morbar Bloodhand beneath.
