Former Brazilian football star Ronaldinho, one of the most famous players in history, has reportedly been involved in a cryptocurrency scam.

The 35-year-old is accused of stealing $2.4 million from an investor who was looking to make money investing in his own cryptocurrency project. The former footballer has been accused of using his clout as a footballer to attract investors to his new venture, The Telegraph reports.

The new cryptocurrency project was launched by Ronaldinho's company Anidub and reportedly promised investors up to 90 percent annual returns. But once an investor put money into the scheme, I never heard from him again.

After retiring from football in 2013, Ronaldinho became an entrepreneur and has several businesses, including a restaurant and an airline called Fly Plane Fly. He also opened a sports bar in Rio de Janeiro called Barra Brava, which he sold last year for $10 million (£8 million).
