The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity - A Premature Book Review

in #books7 years ago (edited)

Ok, a small disclaimer...I haven't even finish reading the book. But I'm loving it so far. That book is "The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity" by Edwene Gaines.

This sassy Southern Belle speaks about ways to bring more wealth into your life. BTW, I love how she looks like a cute little grandma that could have been a character on "Golden Girls"

In her book she talks about 4 different ways in which people can bring more abundance into their lives. The first way is called Tithing. Tithing is when you give 10 percent of your income away. So immediately I thought to myself, "Is that why Oprah is so rich"?

However, according to Gaines, you can't just give to any place. You must give to the people or places that "feeds you spiritually". No I'm not talking about the priest that gives you the "Jesus wafers" at church saying that it's the body of Christ. Although if that person does happen to feed you in a spiritual way in addition to a literal way, then you're on the right track. Basically you are giving your 10 percent to the place that brings you hope, inspiration and just plain ole makes your heart sing.....or in this day and age...twerk.

The next step is Goal - Setting.

Gaines talks about pretty much leaving your insecurities at the door when setting goals. No matter how extreme, outlandish or unrealistic your goal may seem, you must put it out there to the Universe. First things first, write out what your goals are on paper. Second, come to the conclusion of what teeny tiny steps you can take in the direction of that particular goal. The last thing is to take that step! With every little step you get closer and closer to achieving that specific goal. But you have to take the first step even if it means getting out of your comfort zone, so get moving!

The third spiritual law is Forgiveness (the part I'm currently reading)

Now that can be a rough one for some people, even more so than tithing. For me personally, I find tithing to be much easier. A lot of us out there have had some terrible things occur to us that we would deem to be simply unforgivable. In this book Gaines is telling us to let it go. Yes, easier said than done for most of us, I know. To ease us on over to the path of forgiveness, Gaines lists 5 techniques that may help to let old grudges die. I have yet to read that bit of text yet, but I'm excited to see what she has to say.

Sorry I haven't read that far, can you forgive me?

The last step is Finding Your Purpose.

Now I have got up to that part as I've mentioned previously. But the book has been so good thus far that I couldn't wait to share it with others. I'm looking forward to reading this section of the book cause I think I have yet to figure out what my divine purpose truly is.

Hope this premature review has peaked the interest of other readers. I think it's worth the read and I'm not even done yet. Definitely a good sign of a great book.

Bye for now!
