Dark ambient: music that will prepare you for a long winter
Dark ambient is not just dark music. This is dark music that appeals directly to your subconscious, to that part of it, which is still simultaneously afraid of the dark and the predators hidden in it, and longs for it, because in it you can hide from the laughing cannibals that came to devour your tribe.
Dark ambient is full of otherworldly drone and immerses you in a dark, thick, swampy mist atmosphere. There are ancient gods, mold, screaming creatures in the darkness and decayed dead, who play on flutes from their own bones. Music created for those who find grim inspiration in the onset of winter.
Be careful with the sound! This composition begins with the screams of a deer that has been skinned alive, or of a mad spirit that hunts people in the forest. Of all presented - the most panicky and terrible at the same time atmospheric. From the very first seconds, she forces the listener to invent frightening and ugly images that are associated with the forest at sunset.
Despite not a name that is more suitable for black metal, Metatron Omega makes a thoughtful dark ambient, evoking associations with the burial rites of the secret cult. The bells and chants sound as if all their ordinances are performed in underground churches and abandoned mines.
In addition, this composition is pretty much moving towards the “ritual” ambient. The shaman tambourine here provokes the howling of metallic spirits, and the harp and echoes of throat singing sound against the background of even more distant electrical storms. The very first association: it seems the Tungus shaman, who found on the very edge of the tundra the dome of an abandoned city thousands of years ago.
The name of this composition, Hypnos, refers to the ancient sleep god of the Achaeans, Hypnos. The sounds of metal pipes, chains and chains and the howling of a dull wind create in the imagination Hades, a huge underground world, from the ceiling of which hung bronze pipes green from time, hung here as bells.

Tomb of Druids is another example of how the musicians help the listener to tune in to the desired wave and suggest that they represented themselves while making this music. The dampness of the Celtic forests, the prayers of Cernunnos, which respond to the appeals of the Druids with the crunch of trees and the primitive roar. A lone pict hunter who leaves this part of the forest, barely hearing the sounds of the ritual, and knowing that the troubled priests are terrible in anger.

It becomes clear that the times of civilization are just a brief misunderstanding, several centuries between thousands of years of glaciation and Paleolithic. Wetland forests, wet waters flowing down from glaciers, hunters scouring the tundra that covered all of Eurasia, the forges of a neighboring tribe challenging you to war — that is what Paleowolf itself is called "neolithic ritual ambient"
Here you will hear nothing but the ghostly sounds recorded on the old record. The spirits of the dead roam the forest that hundreds of years ago covered their abandoned cemetery, trying in vain to find their burial sites. Better not to disturb them.

In this watch collection, there are two dozen different melodies from different authors. However, they have a common theme and mood - a cruel messenger of the gods Nyarlathotep, created by Howard Lovecraft. Each of the musicians tried to answer the question of how the incarnation of the creature, which Lovecraft himself described, should sound like: "Voices not from this planet are accessible to his ears. Nyarlothotep, dark, slender and sinister, came to the lands of civilization".
Another one hour collection, this time from one musician - Dronny Darko. As it always happens with him, a lot of images and sounds from the most contradictory places and situations are collected here. The rain forests in which the Toltecs prowl are replaced by the noises of an abandoned factory, in the basement of which the Devil himself lives. A snowstorm bursts into the gorge and pats the tent, inside of which a creature snapping a mandible with extraterrestrial curiosity looks at what remains of the tourists.
Dark ambient is incredibly good at how he manages to cause you a stream of fantasy. As soon as you hear these disturbing, otherworldly sounds, you begin to create images that surprise you with their outlandishness, after which any horror will seem like a collection of platitudes. Plunging into each of the melodies, lying in the dark, you will see such amazing pictures that the gloom of the music will no longer be depressing to you.
