The most common newbie mistake is the over-reliance on the upper extremities. This will quickly bring on premature fatigue.

As much as possible, always use the bigger muscles of the lower extremities first, then augment with hands/arms.

There are some individuals born with exceptional arm/hand/finger strength. But they are the rare exceptions (like me), not the rule.

"Hand and Finger Only Dead Hangs" were never a big deal for me. I swear I must have been a monkey in a previous life!

Holy moly... you are a mutant with killer hands! Actually, my fingers were not so much the problem... I was just sore in the arms and the front chest!
