Ghana Tame Mexico in Boxing

Isaac Dogboe beat Cesar Juarez to win the interim WBO World super bantamweight belt by stopping the Mexican in round five on Saturday night at the Hub of Bukom Boxing Arena.

It was a packed crowd at the over 4000-seater boxing Arena, as the supporters came in their numbers to Cheer both boxers Dogboe and Juarez.FB_IMG_1515329190961.jpg

The battle was indeed a fierce one from the moment the first bell was rang. The former Olympian went straight into action in the first round as he target Juarez’s body, the Mexican stood the test while Dogboe as face some body test from the Mexican.

In the second round the Ghanaian mounted intense pressure on Juarez and he sent the WBO ranked number 2 to the canvas with a terrific left hook, the blow was very epic and was heavy as well – someway somehow, the Mexican would beat the referee’s count. The Mexican lost control but was able to control till the bell end for the first round.

Juarez began to warm himself into the fight in the third round but Dogboe landed the telling punches. Juarez always comes in with some killer punches which if landed would have made Dogboe visit the canvas too.

The Mexican in round four started firing from all angles but the 23 year-old Ghanaian kept his composure as he worked behind his stiff jabs. This made Dogboe to slip again as in round one too.

In the fifth round, Dogboe pushed Juarez back with some body shots, the Mexican kept coming forward, however, Dogboe sent Juarez crashing to the mat for the second time, however, the Mexican looked hurt and the referee in the middle of the ring Tony Weeks sensing danger waved for the end of the fight.FB_IMG_1515329143347.jpg

With this win, Dogboe becomes the first professional to stop Juarez and this increase his loss to 6 fight and his knockout fight.

Dogboe increase his winning streak to 18 fights with 18 win with 12 knockouts.

Dogboe give a sound warning to his next opponent for the world title which is yet to be announced and it's location.
