Fury vs Usyk Do you care?

in #boxing2 months ago

I haven't really been a huge fan of boxing as of late largely because the industry has been bastardized by the likes of Triller, Jake Paul, and sadly, even Tyson Fury himself. This match taking place in the next 24 hours or so is billed by many as being the most important heavyweight fight of the century but well, they say that about every fight that happens, don't they?

Now I am going to be a little bit mean here and say that if I knew nothing about what I was looking at and you asked me what do i think these two guys do for a living I would be a lot more likely to say "plumbers" than "professional boxers" and I guess that is part of the fun.

Because the fight is taking place in Saudi Arabia, a lot of the world is going to get a rather shite start time for the fight and as usual, the undercards are, well, i am not a huge fan of boxing but I don't really even know who any of these people are. Unfortunately it is very difficult to just tune in for the big fight but I'm going to do my best because I don't really enjoy sitting through a who's who of who cares in my wait for the big fight of the night.

when you look at the first picture you might come the conclusion that Usyk is a little guy and like I originally though "is that guy really a heavyweight?" Well the thing is he is probably bigger than most of the people you know but Fury is just absurdly huge at nearly 7 feet tall.

This should be a good fight, right? I can't really say. It's been while since I was into boxing because so much of the boxing that we have these days are the silly not real boxing matches that feature Jake Paul vs. some old guy or someone who isn't really even a boxer.

Perhaps this will be better. I know for a lot of people the most exciting part of the match can likely be the theatrics involved with getting the fighters to the ring.

Will I watch it? I don't even know for sure yet. I'll have to see how the rest of the day pans out for me and take it from there.

At the moment, and this can always change. Tyson Fury is a very slight favorite for the win but it is pretty even so a bet on either fighter can at least at the moment, result in a near 1:1 payout.
