Remain campaign calls Brexit a ‘win’ for racists ... really?

in #brexit6 years ago

Bigot: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group with hatred and intolerance.
In this case the bigots I refer to expressed their hatred of UK workers who voted to leave the EU. Like racists, bigots think they are right when they call names and make false assertions about the group they wish to harm. Like racists, bigots do not apologise. Why should they when they believe they are correct? They are supported by their own group and listen only to the voices within their own echo-chamber, stubbornly refusing to face the truth.
There is no place in 21st century society for these shameful and unrepentant people who employ hateful accusation in the hope others will support them in silencing opposition. When given oxygen by the media they get the impression that they are right and those they hate are wrong. They use name calling and falsehood to intimidate those they maliciously attack. If you called Brexit voters ‘racist’ either directly or by supporting such themes as ‘remain against racism’ then your behaviour was that of a bigot.
I call racism when I see it … it would be hypocritical not to hold bigotry to the same standard. Sadly, these people have emerged from hiding … lured by some parts of the media who feed into their prejudiced and ignorant fantasy. We must all stand together against bigotry and racism – call it when you see it and demand explanation.
These people must face their issues and understand the problem is theirs and not their victims. It is the racist and the bigot who are the minority in our society but they can cause damage. In anger when they lost, they called the outcome of Brexit a ‘win’ for racists, handing over a false triumph. Well done, bigots and racists should support each other.
The vast majority of people who voted brexit are not racist and most remain voters are not bigots but all were victims of the bullies who hijacked the debate. Who knows what the outcome would have been … if only the facts were openly discussed.
A wise man once said … "Greatness starts with the replacement of hatred with polite disdain."
I agree
