Evening stroll along the Victoria Promenade
The insomnia has hit me hard the last several days and with little to no sleep I was feeling it at just 8 pm tonight and planned on calling it an early night.
It is very hard to actually go to sleep that time of night here in Edmonton because it is still very bright outside as it doesn't get dark until almost 10:30 pm.
I told the boys goodnight and Riley said "are you sure you don't want to go for a walk along the Promenade I will buy you a REDBULL"
I even amaze myself at how fast I pop to life when I hear those magick words, my kids just know me so well, and Laz was so happy he was going to get his evening stroll after all.
Our first stop was Mac's and a nice chat with one of my first friends I made here in Edmonton the very sweet clerk Harry.
We talked a bit about the awesome thunder and lightening storm today and how much we love the rain and then we headed for the Promenade.
It was such a beautiful evening and it was very nice to see so many people out on their balconies socializing and having a fun weekend too.
Laz got called "Alf" which was a new one and since I didn't have his hair in a pony tail we got asked quite a few times as usual "can that dog even see".
When we got to the Promenade I had the most delightful surprise when sitting on the first bench was Mike the lovely Lebanese gentleman I met from the night before with 4 other men who were just standing relaxed all talking to each other and enjoying the beautiful night.
Mike absolutely lit up when he saw me too and he stood up and we happily hugged each other while and he said "I was hoping you would be out here tonight I have many more things I want to tell you".
He said if I come out every night at this time he will tell me many things he knows and I honestly don't think I have ever seen anyone happier to see me in my life.
I told him I would come out every night and we could talk...and we hugged again and then he settled back into the bench looking so pleased with himself surrounded by his friends.
On the way back we ran into Andre sitting on another bench further down who also lit up when he saw us and since I hugged Mike the other night I decided to give Andre a big hug as well.
He said he liked Laz's hair down and that he must like it as well because the girls like that kind of hair and now he would get lots of girls instead of having his hair in a pony tail.
He said he was hoping he would see us tonight and that Mike was further down with his friends and he would also be out tomorrow night and hopefully we could talk some more.
Guess our evening stroll along the Victoria Promenade is becoming quite a wonderful and popular thing.
Honestly can't wait until tomorrow and listen to all of the things Mike has to tell me.
