Broken Heart

This post is for anyone who has ever experienced heartbreak.

There's that moment you are hoping for something special to happen. When it doesn't, that's not when your heart breaks, but that's where it begins.

What does a broken heart feel like? It's when you realize that your fantasy will always be just that - fantasy. It's when everything that you hoped for doesn't happen and on top of that the thing or person you wanted just crushes you. Reality doesn't allow two worlds apart to come together.

When you feel incomplete, no one can complete you. When you feel inadequate no one can say enough nice things about you. All the good gets dragged by the wayside and all the bad surfaces. The feeling is ephemeral. It's as if you are chasing a sunset. You feel like you are about to reach the horizon and the sun disappears. Yes, it's beautiful. But when the sun goes down, you can only hope tomorrow comes.

Heartbreak is the feeling that your desire can never be fulfilled. It is unrelenting. It can happen to anyone. You can never help your feelings - only your actions.
