BTC V. ETH

in #btc7 years ago

Here's what I dont get, and the reason this market makes no sense whatsoever, and it is quite frustrating, to say the least. BTC passes SegWit2X ultimately avoiding a catastrophe (and I know it's not in the bag completely, but certainly well on the way, and it will happen and we'll be fine), India (the country with the 2nd or 3rd largest pop in the world) is going to legalize BTC in next 90 days, and BTC remains flat or even dips. Now, get this. ETH is not a currency, the blockchain, over the past 48 hrs has truly been put to the test (with Status and Civic ICO), and yes it takes a tumble, but hardly a blip on the radar (seeing what's it's achieved in the past 30 days), and now it's climbing right back - I just don't get it, makes no sense whatsoever! After what has happened in ETH the past 48 hours we ought to be running for the hills as far from it as possible; it truly sucks! I dont care who or how many are building on the ETH platform. A story like this should tell you something about its legitimacy and robust nature or severe lack thereof. Anyhow, some of my thoughts.

Agreed. I do think that the massive recent corporate backing of ethereum does change a lot of things for them obviously. Also the gold hunt based on the ico's and the outside influx of cash has a lot to do with it. The increase of non-cryptocurrency people noticing Ethereum is going through the roof. For bitcoin this brand recognition has been there already for quite a long time. In conclusion, yes I think ethereum should have its bubble popped some time in the future. I do not think anymore that it will be able to surpass bitcoin as top dog UNLESS bitcoin fails in Segwit implementation and manages to cut itself up into two chains. Have fun out there and good luck with your future posts.
