Using Bitcoin Offline

in #btc5 years ago

As technology progresses, so too will the way we transact with money. A company by the name of ‘goTenna’ is #1 on our list of favorites for their innovative approach to sending & receiving Bitcoin offline, with no internet connection. goTenna is a team of first responders catering to the foreseeable need to transact off-grid using something called a mesh network.

We believe this to be one of the biggest game-changers in the digital realm. If or when cell phone towers go down (e.g. during hurricanes, etc), goTenna’s mesh network can effectively fill the gap for mobile communication.

“goTenna also recently put out research that explores how mobile networks can be boosted by Bitcoin’s Lightning Network technology. The company already has experience working with decentralized mesh networks that power offline connections. Now, they’re expanding that idea to the blockchain.” – https://gotenna.com

One day in the not so distant future we see goTenna being globally adopted as a primary means of offline communication, not just for Bitcoin transactions, but also for disrupting the cellular/mobile monopoly of Verizon, Att&t, Sprint, T-Mobile and other internet data providers who take advantage of their lack of competition.

goTenna (Global Mesh Labs LLC) is a company we’re keeping a close eye on and we’ll continue writing about their ambitious endeavors to keep you informed along the way – so stay tuned!

As an added bonus you can even earn up to 2.5% Bitcoin back using Lolli when shopping at goTenna.
