DIRECT PURCHASE
Below is a tiny smattering of some of the goods and services available for purchase with bitcoin directly, but the advent of real and reliable debit cards from the vendors above makes keeping track of who accepts cryptos irrelevant since your debit card is accepted everywhere. You can even take cash from ATM machines with these cards up to $3000 per day.
In the meantime I threw up a small list of the hundreds of companies already taking cryptos for you to start your own research and give you ideas of where to look for businesses that accept BTC:

Post anything you find in the comments and I will keep digging. This list is already growing too fast to be comprehensive. Soon it will be like listing the telephone book....for the PLANET! I will keep finding some real good additions to the list and most likely break this part off into a separate post.

Thats great, you can keep your money in the blockchain without worrying too much
Good observation. Remember all 'wallets' are nothing more than the secure KEYS that unlock the value within the blockchain. Best practices dictate that you must always move your coins off of the exchange as soon as you acquire them.
I prefer to use the wallets that either rest directly on their respective blockchains with a simple interface, or the native full node wallets directly from the developers. This is time consuming, expensive and a general pain in the ass, but for me it is the best way to go for now.
This is my 'warm wallet' approach. My hot wallets are on my cel phone for day to day spending. These 'hot' wallets are no longer necessary if you use these cards. Solves the hassle of having to be so vigilant about security when you are out spending in the real world.
We all know that actual cold storage is either a hardware wallet or paper. Of course the ultimate is a brain wallet, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I still have trouble remembering the combination to my locker at the gym after I haven't been there for a couple weeks.....:)
Lol @ brain wallet. That is actually a very level headed and practical approach you just mentioned
