So Steemit similar to Bubblews?

As I've read you can earn SD making an article or blog? Seems very similar from Bubblews but unfortunately the site shutdown due to change of advertisement profit from the user who exploited the site and bypass the system to earn more bucks!

But as I can see this Steemit site looks neat and clean and don't have much advertisements or should I say "advertisement free' site. That's why I am very much curious if this site really pays. Oh well seems I need to spend more time to look around the site. So much fun in here, so many posts, active members as I can see in comments. Hope I can learn more stuffs here and earn extra bucks. I will truly be grateful if you can help me post links on the comment for startup newbie guide on this site Steemit. Thanks and have a nice day!
