in #build-it4 years ago

Good morning Steemians, I made a leather backpack-handbag yesterday and would like tp share it here. Its is a bag that can contain a laptop comfortably and also books and otber documents. You can carry it like a backpack and also like a handbag.

MATERIALS NEEDED

  • Leather of choice
  • 4 pairs of magnets
  • Adjuster
  • Hooks
  • Hooks rings.

PROCESS

Below I'll be giving a pictorial explanation of how i achieved this bag.

  • First step is marking and cutting. I used the following measurements. For the main bag i used 36 by 12 inches. For the small hand i used 17 by 2 inches. For the long hand i used 45 by 2 inches. For the leather i fixed the magnet on, I used 15 by 2 inches. I cut 3 by 1 inches in 4 places ( leather is used for holding the rings that holds the hook). The last leather i cut was the covering leather which the measurement was 15 by 2 inches.

  • I fixed the magnet on the 15 by 2 inches leather and stitch as shown below.

  • I located the middle 3 inches down and mark it with a pencil so it will guide me with the rest of my measurements. Then i marked 3inches from the middle both sides, apply a gum and fixed small hand of the bag as shown below. After which i stitched it together.
