Check out our NextColony AutoPilot Bot!

in #buildteam5 years ago

Are you playing NextColony?

Is your closest neighbour happily exploring, while you're still stuck trying to figure out what to skill?

Do you struggle to remember to return every few hours to click the "Enhance" button?

While idle games are certainly fun, it doesn't feel good to be left behind, just because you don't have as much time as everyone else, especially if money is involved.

With the new battle system, and other game elements to come, the need for some automation is definitely there - but do you have the time and abilities to write your own bot?

Luckily, you don't have to, because BuildTeam already did it for you!

Our BuildTeam Shop doesn't just carry Splinterlands merchandise, it also allows you to subscribe to our NextColony AutoPilot bot - which is on sale right now!

What does the bot do?

The NextColony AutoPilot bot works in three stages:

Stage 1:

  • Player Skills and Planet Skills are leveled to make exploring possible.

Stage 2:

  • Explore surrounding galaxy, starting with the tiles closest to your planet
  • Upgrade production
  • Upgrade Transporters

In this stage, the bot will try to ensure that you always have some backup explorers, in case one is lost during a mission. The maximal possible amount of missions will always be active.

Which skill is chosen for an upgrade depends on the resources available.

Stage 3:

  • All skills are being developed, depending on available resources

Room to evolve

As the game is developed, the BuildTeam devs will add functionalities to the bot too, so you don't have to worry about it going obsolete.

It's important to note that while the bot automatically explores the galaxy surrounding your planets, it will never start attacking other planets. We want to avoid players creating bot armies to terrorize other players. If you want to attack someone, you will have to do so manually.

The subscription is on a monthly basis, so should you decide you only need it for a short while (during a vacation!), you can get back into the game whenever you want.

The NextColony AutoPilot bot only requires you to give posting authority to our @btcolony Steem account, which can be done via SteemConnect on this link.

Sort:

beta.steemconnect will not authorize btcolony. anyone else having issues?

Did you use your active key to authorize? The beta interface can be a bit confusing, we are giving @fabien as much feedback as we can.

Can you walk me through what you are experiencing and then we can see what the problem is?

it asks for my posting key. I have tried the website and desktop app.
After entering username and posting key it takes me to the next screen with authorize or cancel buttons. after hitting authorize nothing happens.

Edit: I used active key and it was successful.

Will give fabien that feedback, authorize needs active key so it should net ask for posting :/

The concept of bot is great but I am sure that this program can be cloned then used to take advantage of the game and community.
I would propose to add in game menu a section allowing players to manually schedule theirs game actions. So the player can check the progress after 24 or 48 hours.
Peace

In my opinion a blockchain game should be designed with bots in mind. For example Splinterlands does this really well, you could bot but it would be a lot of work with no clear benefit. So I see bots as the tool you use if you really don't want to wake up at 5am to click that one button. A scheduling feature would also be awesome and already solve many pain points :)

Hopefully can have the same things for drugwars and steemmonsters. I have a busy day, but I have FOMO in those games. Especially Drugwars, I am worried about getting attacked everyday.

Drugwars moved away from the Steem blockchain, so automatic actions are not a thing that is possible or wanted by the developers.

Steemmonsters went the other way and made the game hard to bot, because it requires strategy. So a bot for Steemmonsters would be possible but only with a lot of effort. And if there is demand, maybe that effort is worth it :)

Thanks for enlightening me on the state of STEEM DApps. 👍

Pretty cool idea to have an autopilot, but i am active enough myself :D

I am always just waiting on recourses

We are trying to code the bot for active players too, so that is complements you when you sleep and you wake up to new explorations and upgraded mines :)
