One month money back!steemCreated with Sketch.

Today is a very special day for me! Why do I say so, well because it is the day I have ZERO money invested in cryptocurrencies. And yes, ZERO in the fact that I have managed to with draw my initial capital outlay of $1,8k and remain with coins worth >$3k.

Now, why am I happy:

  1. I am not a professional trader so I should admit that from 1 November to 20 November I lost money by going in and out of positions at the slightest sight of a loss. I learnt my lessons fast and recovered well.
  2. I have been buying and selling bitcoins since 2015 but every time the price went up by 50% I would get excited and sell off. I am still mad at myself, I could be that rich young crypto guy!
  3. I now appreciate the power of research, patience and luck! Yes luck! I mean, what are the odds that I decided to be serious about crypto when we were having one of the biggest bull runs of our life. I made most of my money from 6 trades out of hundreds FOMO (mostly) trades I engaged in i.e. Emc2, Vertcoin, Cardano, Litecoin, XRP, Verge and IOTA.
  4. I no longer have the psychological burden (or at least the burden is a bit lighter now) of obsessing over the impacts of losing my capital in a market crash or wrong trade.
  5. I can now confidently engage in medium to short term trades which I am sure is key getting into 2018. My understanding of how to research about crypto is at least 51% so I hope I will do well.
  6. I am a student so cryptos are an alternative to having to juggle between studying and working all night shifts.

How did I generate a good return;

  1. Honestly, 70% of the result is simply because I got into the market at the right time and it was by sheer coincidence. I will take no credit for this

  2. 30% of the result I dedicate it to:
    a. I made mistakes and recovered from the quickly. In the first week, I lost $200. I stopped trading daily and went for weekly trades or target trades. Remember I’m not a professional trader
    b. I spent (and still do) one hour per day reading about crypto and watching news and videos of crypto.
    c. I have an effective FUD filtering mind
    d. I follow influential people on tradingview who have given some good trades
    e. I stay out of telegram groups! As a beginner I don’t think I can handle having 100 trade tips a day.
    f. Sometimes I don’t set stop losses

This was a quick post of my crypto journey so far. I am just an amateur trader trying to invest in the next tech space as well as generate some returns. I wish everyone the best in this wild wild west territory. I find trading to be hugely psychological so if there are other beginners like me out there, stay cool! BTW, Steemit coin has given me a cool 150% return :D

Remember cash is king during pullbacks. See you on the moon!
