Front pattren or layout of men trousers

IMG20241203095200_00.jpg

If I have to draw basic pattern for men trouser front side then first of all the measurements that I need outer length, contour of waist, contour of hip and height of hip. I take a blank plain page at which I have drawn a rectangle which I labelled as A B C D.

If you have to measure height of then you need to measure length of AD point as I measured through a dotted line shown in picture which I took or extended to other end in between B C points.

I take measurements of hip 1/4th and add 4 cm in it at A D point. After that you can see 3 lines in which first line is 1 ,second line is line 2 and third line is 6.I have divided line number 2 with 15 percent after that I got around 2.9 cm. By measurement of 2.9 cm line 2 I am going to extend more outside rectangle.

After that I focus on AD point and move 2 cm below and mark that point as 4.I take 4th part of waist from A B point while making measurements. After that I marked a line by measurement 1/2th part from outer length.

Now from point CD I am introducing 2.9 cm.I match measurements of 2.9 cm from C to D and from D to C.All points have been marked!

Now it's a time to join all points wisely for getting front complete pattren for men trouser. I have joined point one with point 3 with a smooth curve shape for adding dart. At top of rectangle we can see that there are 4 and 5 that can be joined together with straight line.Side seam can be created by joining line 5 with line one. At last in finishing we will join line 3 with line 8 by using scale and line 7 with line to by using scale at both these are straight joinings.

Back pattren or Layout of men's trouser

If I have to draw basic pattern for back piece of trousers for men then again I need to make a rectangle with measurements that I have already taken in creation of my first piece rectangle. In rectangle above there were three lines which I mark as as first line point 2 as second line and 6 as third line. At bottom I also marked point 7.

About I have obtained 2.9 cm as my calculations results so I need to multiply it by 3 which is equal to 8.7 cm almost so I extend line to as I extend it above and extended line I mark as 3 but along with that extended line I created a dotted 8.7cm line along extended line which I mark as point number 9. I divided extended line in following marking which is 3,31 and 32. In this way that for back piece for men's trouser can be obtained.

I introduced 2 cm at A B point and move upward 2 cm there which I marked as it is point number 4.After this step I added 2 cm in 4th part of my measurements of waist.I created line in middle of point 4 and 5.

If I talk about point number 8 then it's same which can be seen in front pattren too.after that I need to take measurements of distance present in between line two and six. I started from point 3two to line 6 for giving it a curve and then I extended point number 3 in downward direction because now I have to join points together to giving a final look to my back trouser pattern for men.

IMG20241203104319_00.jpg

First I have joined point 3 with 1 in curve shape. After that at top of rectangle point one can be seen which was joint with line number one.again at top of rectangle point 4 and 5 are present as they were also present in front pattern so I joined both of them by using scale in straight line. Point 5 is joined with point one in slightly curve shape. Now it's a time to give final look to back pattern by joining point to with 7 and 9 with 8 in straight line. So now my back pattern for men trouser is ready!

There are different patterns of cutting when it's comes to trousers, what matters is how it's looks after sewing.

Back then when I was still learning I used to ask my boss so many questions, like why is it that the waste band added to the trouser during the sewing process dose not affect the length of the trousers.?

Yh, I know it's difficult to answer, but after making my research I found out that the waste doesn't affect the length because of the sewing allowance collected from the labs.

Which means after joining your trousers together, the length will surely reduce by one or two inches.

I will also like to hear from your own thoughts.

Yes when you have to learn stitching, sewing or pattren making then always different questions arise in mind.
As you asked about adding a waste band so it is allowance which is important to add and it decrease length but very little so while pattren making we should always take little more length than actual!
Hope you understood!
