HAHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah, SEO survived (somehow) through the Pandas, Penguins, and Possums. Now, we are dealing with Hummingbird, Fred, and a LOT of "unnamed" algorithm updates. Joy. I really do hope this post gives a new business owner pause to think about these basics. Thanks for chiming in, @aboutyourbiz.
And to realize they can't just buy the first position in google because they hire you or someone to rank them.

Yeah, even throwing money at Adwords is not quite enough to secure the #1 spot. Google assesses a 'quality' score on a website in Adwords
