A brand is a promise made to a client with regards to the product or service on offer. Unfortunately, most do associate a brand with its identity which is just a component of the overall brand. In ensuring the success of your brand, below are important considerations while in the initial set up.

BRAND COMPONENTS

A brand is made of different components that are intrinsic and extrinsic. The extrinsic components of a brand includes its name, colors, logo, messaging which can easily be identified by its stakeholders mostly clients. The intrinsic components of a brand lies in the set-up of its store more so if it’s a brick and mortar or retail business. Below are some important components for consideration to a successful brand.

Name

Ensure that the brand name is easy to remember and pronounce and has few to zero existing users to improve the chances of association with your product or service. This you can ensure by a Google search of the name you have in mind so that your proposed website URL does not clash with a competitors therefore making it easy for your clients to find you.

Colors

The colors associated with your brand should be vibrant and uniquely associated with your brand and different from competitors. It is vital to ensure that your brand colors are consistently used through all the communication so that your customers can easily identify your brand color scheme.

Logo

A logo is the easiest identification medium for your client, ensure that it is unique and embraces the colors, messaging and the promise of your brand. Also to note is that the logo needs to have a sentimental meaning to the brand. An example would be the Audi logo rings which represents the four companies that come together to form the Audi brand.

Messaging

Every brand is associated with a particular messaging tailored to its specific clientele. Ensure that your brand messaging is tailored to this so that your consumers can easily identify with the brand. If your brand is to be known for innovation, just as is in the mobile industry ensure that you always out to communicate the new features and technology.

Set-up

A set up forms a huge differentiation for any brand in the brick and mortar or retail industry as it defines the ambience and experience sold by the specific brand. When you walk into any sub-way branch across the world or KFC you will realize that there are all similar because they are under one brand

UNIQUE SELLING POINT (USP)

What separates different brands within the same industry is the unique selling point that the brand is aligned to. An example is in the car industry, where the BMW brand is associated with luxury and its sport nature while the Toyota brand is associated with its price and utility. It is important while setting up your brand to be clear as to what USP is associated with your brand.
