You Want To Run A Business?

in #business7 years ago

Come here -- seriously, do you not know the secret? Just by participating in Steemit, you are already a business owner!!!

Aren't you trying to earn some money with your content??? That is the first step in a journey to seeing other income potentials. Let's start with the content that folks are posting on Steemit...

  • Art
  • Photography
  • Words
  • Ideas
  • Products
  • Freelance Opportunities
  • Job Opportunities

Do you see where this is going? You have the opportunity to be more than a few clicks on the page. But how do you take your content and translate that into a business model? This is where the word "work" comes into play.

Most artists and photographers have a few steps in this showing of work. Guess what? You need a portfolio. If you are not a complete hot mess, your Steemit Blog can be your portfolio. However, looking around, I have noticed that some folks do not understand the concept of what goes on the Steem Blockchain stays on the Steem Blockchain.

If you want to be a professional, and you are at the beginning of your journey, it is extremely important to mind your manners. Basically, it means that your reputation hinges on how you treat others and what sort of work ethic you put forward.

Portfolio Problems

Building a portfolio means being mindful of what you can and cannot include in it. If you are a ghost writer, this is one of the largest no-no's. It is imperative that you write your own work -- even if you are not being paid for it.

Maybe you have a flare for designing closets, before starting you can ask your client if they would allow you to take before and after images (if you don't talk about whose closet it is). Or maybe you are @saywha and you are brilliant making old furniture come alive with your creative talents -- you can find his brilliant work on his Steemit Blog.

If you are interested in building a portfolio, but don't know what it should be based on -- leave a comment below, I would be happy to help send you off in the right direction.

What If I Don't Know What I Want to Do?

There is a wonderful book called:

Business Model You

http://businessmodelyou.com/

I have recommended this book to many clients. Half of the issue when choosing a career path is finding the right model and this book is brilliant at helping folks see the bigger picture.

Speaking Of Bigger Pictures...

Sure, every business owner wants to earn money, but if you are not happy doing whatever it is that you are doing to make that money...Then success is not achieved.

Be mindful of your feelings when choosing a business opportunity as the goal is to develop a long-term strategy that not only provides wealth, but freedom to feel good about your decisions.

Have you taken the time to brainstorm before you decide to build your "home"? It is essential that you take the time to let your imagination run wild and list every single idea that you would enjoying doing. Who knows, maybe you can create the next big fad because you took the time to let go!?
