It is weird that someone would be buying something for years without checking to make sure their pricing was "still" good...... or not. He's lucky you saw it or he could have been doing the same thing for more years.

The problem is this guy took over the managerial role in October and was in the busy period for them. I don't think he was hands on where he was before and didn't know market prices. I blame the guy before him who was an idiot.
These days it falls to someone sitting in an office which I think is wrong. If you run the warehouse or factory you need to be clued up and hands on.
