FROM MODELLING STUDENT TO BUSINESS WOMAN.. AT THE AGE OF 16!

in #business8 years ago

In 2011, I had my first ever experience with modelling. I was hand scouted through an agent from Figures Models and Talent International. My parent and I were both invited to attend an interview, where after I enrolled into Modelling School. Because of my excitement and determination, I became a fast learner and quickly progressed to being a class leader.

As modelling became my passion, I was never late for class and I grabbed every opportunity that came by, with both of my hands. I loved helping other learners or assisting in small projects, such as modelling functions or arranging the music. I passed all of my courses with an A++ and I was even invited to go to IMTA, an international competition hosted in New York. Off course I was still in school, thus I decided to stay and rather focus on my education.

At first I thought that I have made a mistake, but little did I know that the biggest opportunity was yet to come! Even though I was only 16 years of age, I was asked by the Centurion branch owner to go into a full co-partnership with her. I was thrilled! I taught all of the classes, and worked with children and young adults from the ages of 2-21 years.

At the age of 17, we took a big business risk and switched over to another franchise agency, Master Models, and what a great success it was! I lived by one quote: "I as one person cannot change the world, but I can change the world for one person" - I wanted to change the world for at least one person. My purpose was not allowing that the self-esteem of others around me, be controlled by the mere opinion of others. Especially helping those who don't have the natural talent to discover their inner beauty.

I know that I had the trust and respect from all of the 52 students I worked with. This was the hardest, most challenging experience I ever had, and it was the best time of my life. I know in my heart, that I made a difference in every single students life, be it on an educational, emotional, physical of financial level.

I didn't choose to play it safe and be just 'good', I chose to take a chance and be great. I believed I could, and so I did.
