Online Business Review - Textbroker
Textbroker is a service that pays you to write articles on various subjects. You choose the subject, then the topic, then submit an article based on the specifications outlined by the client and you get paid by the word. Sounds great right?
Yeah not so much, and let me tell you why.
How I heard about Textbroker.
I sometimes watch videos on YouTube about ways to make money from home. Beleive it or not, that is how I learned about Steemit in the first place, and I am so happy I did. Because of this, I continue to look for ways to make an income from home.
One day I watched a video talking about Textbroker. It is a site that has you write content for other peoples blogs and web pages. They have a rating system and pay you per word based on where you rate. I completed Argumentative Writing in college two semesters ago with a 4.0 grade and I feel I can write fairly well. I also have Grammerly on my computer that catches mistakes I miss.
I felt confident that I would be able to develop an income stream from this site so I registered and submitted a writing sample.
Where things started to look not so good.
Right after I registered, I got an email saying that I needed to submit tax paperwork in the form of an I-9. I don't really like giving out my information, but I figured that if things worked out I would, however, I wanted to check it out more first.
Next thing that was not to my liking was that when I tried to log in it told me that I had to wait 15 days to be verified and have my writing judged. This didn't thrill me, but I had no choice.
The site rates on a 5 Star system and when my writing sample came back I rated a 4 Star rating. Not too bad, this meant I could write for a higher tier of pay, things were looking good.
Getting started.
So I started to look through the requested articles and lo and behold I found one wanted for "Media Literacy and its Importance in American Society." Well, shoot! I go to school for Digital Media Audio and Cinema. Even better, I just took Media Literacy last semester and got a 4.0 grade. I had this in the bag!
I got my textbook down from the shelf and began to write. I used links like it was requested to link information supporting my arguments and submitted a good piece of writing for approval. I had worked on it about 3 hours, far more than the $10.00 I was going to get was worth, but I wanted to have my first assignment be really good. I mean after this the money would start to flow!
Surprise!
Imagine my surprise the next day when I got an Email from the person wanting the article saying that "This article makes 0 sense" I was amazed! I know this material and am good with writing, what was the deal here? I sent an Email to the website and explained the problem, fully expecting them to rectify the situation.
No, instead I got an email back telling me to resubmit the article, and when I did I got a lengthy response with every comma splice and mistake outlined as a reason why I did not deserve to be paid. I couldn't believe it! Then I realized that the guy wanting the article must have seen it at one point. What was preventing him from just stealing it for his own use?
Recommendation
I think I am a strong writer and for what this site is supposedly willing to pay, remember I never was compensated, $10.00 or so for a 4 Star post, for 3 or more hours worht of work, this is just not a good idea for making money in my opinion.
My advice? Do not use Textbroker!
I would love to hear anybody else's experince with this site.

So textbroker is not good to go. What about this part "I sometimes watch videos on YouTube about ways to make money from home".
Watching the videos for making money, how is that working out for you. Are you making good money from it and how can I start doing this?
No I mean I check out videos about different ways. I haven't really found anything that works other than Steemit so far.
Oh I missed "about ways to make money", thanks for sharing your earned experience so far.
Oh bad company... If you're looking for another blog site to earn money from I can suggest something else that also has a star rating system but a whole lot better. Doesn't pay per article though but the highest the top member/s can earn per day is like less than $10.
Sure what is it?
I posted about it here around two months ago. This is one of the proof of payment after it accumulated over a month.
I've been there for two years on and off and they are still paying. :)
