DAMAGE TO THE PLANET

Hello steemians friends, we have more than three centuries thinking like this and acting accordingly. Given this long period of mistreatment towards the natural environment, the cumulative consequences of this have become obvious for some fifty years. The result of such outrage is the critical crossroads in which we find ourselves, the crucial point to which the outrages committed with our mother earth, Gaia, the Pachamama, our source of life, have led us.

We have reached the historical limits of the system, because the planet earth does not resist so much destruction. The planet is sick. And the so-called natural resources are coming to an end. After having been subjected to overexploitation, they are increasingly scarce, they are becoming exhausted, for which reason the mother earth is suffering a climate change whose consequences will be cataclysmic if the predatory actions carried out on it are not stopped immediately.

We thought that natural resources were infinite, that they were inexhaustible. But it's not like that. On the contrary, they are finite, they are not renewable. The myth of the infinity of natural resources has been dismantled and, therefore, the myth of the infinity of economic growth has also collapsed, both the central myths of the bankrupt system, over which economic activity has revolved for several centuries. .
We grew up in the blind belief that natural resources could be exploited for ever and ever. And we also believed that the economy of all countries could always grow, show positive statistics year after year. But today, in the light of the terrible problems that plague the human race, such as: increase in the Earth's temperature, desertification, air pollution, acid rain, shortage of drinking water, decrease in polar snows, destruction of fertile land, extinction of rivers and lakes, growing scarcity of food, hunger that afflicts millions of people, it is demonstrated that such myths are impossible to sustain over time.

The economy can not maintain the current rate of growth because the source of economic production are natural resources and these are running out, they are coming to an end. In addition, to sustain the current level of production and consumption of the world's population, three planets equal to the earth are required, and this is impossible.

So the logical conclusion derived from the collapse of such myths is that it is essential to change the economic model. The predatory model still in force in the world is exhausted. It is a suicide to continue on that path. We are getting closer and closer to a great ecological cataclysm capable of causing the extinction of all forms of life existing on earth. Therefore our obligation is to change the course, assume another way of living. The only option we have to save the planet is to adopt without delay a way of life completely friendly with nature, respectful of the earth.
