Attabad Tunnel ! KKH Gilgit Bltistan

in Jan 2010 due to landsliding the flow of Hunze River blocked for five month. due to this the 13 km long Attaabad Lake came into formed and completely submerged some villages of Hunze and 19 km of the Karakurum Highway.
Attaabad TunnelTunnels, which have been constructed by China over the Attabad Lake in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Hunza valley. The tunnels have been constructed by the National Highway Authority (NHA) in collaboration with the China Road and Bridge Corporation to restore part of the road which had submerged under the Attabad Lake.
