WHAT IS THE ECONOMY AS A SCIENCE?

Interestingly, Political Economy lacks practicality; she does not offer solutions to any type of economic malaise; it does not dictate resolutive formulas of any economic problem confronted by any society. Recall that Capital, by Karl Marx, has not gone from being a complex, detailed and judicious critic to the Political Economy of which both the classics of yore so much used.

Those classics racked their brains finding an explanation to the origin of wealth, for example, but there. None of them proposed such or such measures for a better distribution of wealth, they simply corroborated and improved as a source of wealth the Nature and the other trades making satisfactory goods of diverse needs, clothing, footwear, home furniture, housing, etc.

It is a fact that the rulers can orient the Economy or leave it to the free will of the manufacturers and intermediaries, who, by acting independently and divided, usually compete to catch a larger number of clients or piece of the market, but, the corrective measures to the economic problems lack vaccines, beyond the free market and a techno-scientific legal and educational support that guarantees better productivity and respect for private property, but that is no longer Economy, it is Politics, it is Law.
