One of the factors that make the high number of victims is a glance there is no difference between toxic mold and edible mushrooms.

To prevent poisoning, residents are asked to buy only wrapped mushrooms, which sells many shops.

The BBC's Persian correspondent says people sometimes buy mushrooms from street vendors. Allegedly this dead mushroom comes from here.

The Tasnim news agency said the poisonous poisonous mushroom grew in the mountains of western Iran after the spring rains.

Some reports say the high rainfall last month made the production of wild mushrooms increased rapidly.
