Vitamin A dietary Intake
How much of vitamin A do i take daily?
Why do i need to be consistent about my intake of Vitamin A?
Vitamin A is a fat soluble Vitamin having 3 basic forms with peculiarities in source.
- Retinols
- Beta Carotenes
- Carotenoids
Vitamin A is essential for Vision, Bone growth, Immunologic Response, Reproduction, Maintenance of the Surface lining of the eye, epithelial cell growth and repair, epithelial integrity of the respiratory, urinary and intestinal tract and essential in embryonic development, amongst other health benefits.
Looking at the health benefits, you wouldn't like to come down with Vitamin A deficiency. Deficiency is seen in Malnourished and Chronically ill patients.
Staying nourished will entail a good intake level of the following; Liver, Beef, Chicken, whole and fortified milk, mangoes, oranges, carrots and potatoes. Eating at least 5 serving of fruits and vegetables is highly recommended to stay nourished!
