Steemitghana's First Meet Up And How It has Impacted The Community.
Today wasn’t like any other. It was amazingly great. For the first time since the invention of social media, I honestly believe today has shown more people the real difference between online gimmicks and what a real community looks like. Today, I have been able to put faces to the various usernames such @mcsamm ,@richforever ,@anaman ,@collinz ,@debbynep ,@jakemore ,@kshemen ,@steem4depoor ,@tj4real ,@ehnkannde ,@desmond41 ,@joshuanaabu and a lot more. We were fortunate enough to have seasoned steemians @tojukaka ,@ejemai ,@gee1 ,@ewuosu ,@fisteganos ,@adejoke16 ,@ibukun
Today, I realized many things about what Steemit stands for. It is not just about money. @ejemai said something wonderful during his speech which I believe got the attention of the many gathered.
“The real currency we get rewarded with on the platform is not really STEEM or SBD, it is RELATIONSHIPS”.
@tojukaka also gave an outstanding presentation on how steemit has helped develop his local community. It was just amazing how these young people from Nigeria, full of determination and hope to create a better world not just for themselves but also for their communities.
To be frank, these guys today through their interactions with us have shown us how small we the Ghanaian community have been dreaming. For us, it was all about getting enough SBD to prevent hunger but today as I have stated earlier on has been a game changer. I believe more Ghanaian steemians have as of today come to the realisation that in other to get value from the steemit.com community, you need to bring in value. You need to bring in something worth supporting and praising.
The program ended and we took a lot of pictures as a group and with one another. It was like nothing I have ever seen before. What kind of social media can get people travelling from different countries just to meet up with other people and educate, laugh and take pictures with them.
One thing that got me amazed to the core was the warm reception we got from the family of @tj4real. When I say the family, I mean everyone from the father, mother, his two big sisters and even his brother-in-law. I personally came to visit him on the 5th and I have been here since. The family spent all night, cooking for the guest who would be coming. It was surprising for me as my own family didn’t even want to hear me speak about an opportunity as this and here is a father who gave out his three cars so we can go out and convey the members from their various resting places to the venue. To this family, I say God richly bless you. After the meet-up ended, a few of us including the Nigeria team were invited to the family’s home for a small get together where we interacted with one another.
I believe this is the first of its kind where a social media platform can get ordinary people like myself and many others, some students, doctors, farmers, writers and many more together in a room and have a healthy conversation.
I believe I speak for everybody when I say It was really impactful. I hope next year’s will be a much bigger affair where we can get people like @ackza ,@nanzo-scoop,@ak2020 ,@steemed-open ,@tytran to come and share with what will be a much larger community, their thoughts on how we can develop more as a team.
This is @kwakumax and trust me when I say, we had fun. 6th January 2018 has really changed our view of things. It is our turn to show others what we have seen.
It was nice meeting all these steemians in flesh and blood.....
It was soo fun and its the beginning of greater works. 2018 is going to be an explosion
All the way up to the sun bro. 2018 is the year for improvement and greater impact. I hope we all do our best.
Looks like it was a fantastic event. I'll definitely try to fly out for the next one!
Keep up the great work.
It was a success as you can see from the pics. You're always welcome to join us anytime we hold such an event again as it keeps bringing us together and teaching us one or two we need to know.. Thanks for your help thought the upvotes.. God bless! #TeamGhana
It was more than amazing. The reception and everything. We are working to build a much bigger and committed crowd who will bring value to the platform. We do hope you make it next year.
It would have been a great disaster to be absent from this wonderful meeting that took place yesterday here live in Sunyani, words can't describe how joy it has brought to me, I really do appreciate it and hoping to partake in the next one, LOVE STEEMIT
It is going to be bigger every year. Now let us focus on adding value to our community. Let us focus on bringing real change to not just the steemit community but the type of change that could get people in our nation to want to be a part of us.
Steemit has already began exploding in Africa.
When we are ready in Uganda,we shall let you guys know.
I hope you guys get to invite us to your first meet-up. It'd be a great pleasure as it would help us get to know other people from your country and get to work with them on different projects. I am following you and hope to read great posts from you @jaraumoses
That was a great meet up for #teemGhana having the likes of @ejemia and the stach crew gracing the occasion. Not forgetting the enormous support from @ackza and the other steemians who always want to see #teemGhana reach greater height.
The way I really wanted to make it to the meet up but due to circumstances beyound control I couldnt be there. From the pictures I saw on the whatsapp platform I know i really missed a lot 😣😣.
I believe next year is going to be big and if God wills and we are all still alive, we shall make it happen bigger and better.
We thank God for making it a success.
It was indeed amazing. Let us do well to put in the work and everything will gradually fall in place. We live in an era where everything is connected to the world wide web. It is just a wise thing to do if you use the internet to market ourselves. I hope you make it next year. @sircharles
Yeah sure. If God wills and we are alive by that time I won't miss it for anything.
Am so glad I was able to make it, was nice meeting all the wonderful people, God bless you guys for the good work done
It was really nice meeting you @debbynep and all the others yesterday. I really hopped you guys could have stayed longer. Maybe something could be done about it next year. Maybe we could extend the meet-up to a week long program. That would be amazing.
It was a pleasure to be a part of this wonderful meeting. It was a wonderful experience being. God bless us all. 😊
Next year is going to be bigger and better. Let us do well to involve more people prepared to add value to the platform. Ghana is about to witness something great thanks to steemit.inc. Let us continue to work and bring this dream into reality. Operation 10,000 active steemians has started.
Steemit is a great place and a mine of opportunities for many of the communities.lets play our part and make it viral.thanks for the post.
It is kind of like our jobs now to not only keep to ourselves this amazing chance. It feels sad sometimes when people feel like we are trying to recruit them into some form of referral MLM business. This year must be great and our work will be done as we have started. Let us make it go boom to the world.
The Nigerians were awesome and the Ghanaians were amazing thats steemit for you.. It's about love and unity. That's what we did.. I hope it gets bigger and better. #Longliveafrica
And i am glad you were there to support it too @jakemore . Next year will be great as well.
Wow ..it was really amazing seeing you guys for the first time. I really learn a lot from this meetup ...im richer in mind and in cash. Steemit to the moon..
Am so glad I was able to make it, was nice meeting all the wonderful people, God bless you guys for the good work done
