#STEEMIT

Alright people, so I'm not going to rehash the same shit I've gone over a million times. Okay, maybe just a little:

The Steemit system rewards users who purchase paid upvotes
Your content doesn't need to be good to hit the Trending page
Most content on the Trending page is shit
Most content that's NOT on the Trending page is also shit
New people don't put enough effort into their work here because they assume they will be rewarded with STEEM anyway because that's just how the platform is designed
They eventually get frustrated once they learn that virtually all exposure on here is purchased
Furthermore, there is a learning curve with the vote bots and most people will lose money while they learn
Meanwhile, the Trending page is full of poorly written posts that nobody reads
The common "wisdom" on this platform is that if you just try hard enough, someday you'll make it
People are encouraged to leave comments and "engage" with other users, which leads to 75% of comments being of the generic "great post" variety
Users who hit the Trending page don't put effort into their posts because they know they don't need to
Users who don't have enough money/balls to use voting bots don't put effort into their posts because they can't afford it
The result? A lot of shitty, low effort posts and comments that nobody is reading. Meanwhile, some whales are getting richer by super circle-jerking each other and self-voting their own posts. Nobody's happy.

I did get frustrated but i continued from my first day to make sure i only post high quality content that i put effort in to. Slowly but surely WITHOUT bots or spending any money, ive grown my rep to 46 which isn't bad after a month (im happy with the small progress anyway) im still only on 10 steem power but i think over time i should grow organically?

I totally get what you are saying... but I don't understand how that is different than anything else that makes you money in life. Have you ever tried to start a small business? It is very hard, and you can only get out what you put into it. There are only two ways that you can grow a business... with hard work, or money. And no matter how hard you try make your mark there is always the good-ol-boys club that scratches eachothers backs. Either you have to spend a ridiculous amount of time making content that people really actually like (and this stuff does exist on steemit) and building a following for that content or you have to buy your way into some attention (thank goodness for voting bots). Without being in the whale club, anyone is going to have a hard time coming into some real money on steemit. At least with voting bots people have a chance of buying some exposure. And then if they have good content they will be able to grow a following. The good content exists, you just have to find it.
