It's been two and a half years Google has an Android Pay digital payment system. Latest; Google is updating its digital payment platform to make it simpler, more secure, and more consistent for its users.

Reported by Engadget, Wednesday (21/2/2018), Android Pay is now renamed Google Pay. It is a combination of Android Pay and Google Wallet.

Android Pay and Google Wallet are actually two different applications, but the function is the same. The difference; Android Pay is only for Android devices, while Google Wallet serves as a more global (cross platform) digital payments service - e.g. sending money to friends and family.

This update is actually already rumored Google last month. Google will unify all of its payment tools under Google Pay at once to compete with Apple Pay's online payments application.

Google Pay promises faster checkout functionality than ever before. The unification of the two services has also been formally announced by Google through the two payment director services.

Both said Google is now working to enable Google Pay to all of their products. Google also works with online partners and stores that will then make Google Pay available on web sites, apps, and conventional stores around the world.

Fortune (20/2) preach, Google Pay has two areas; porches and cards. Home shows recent transactions and instructions for local stores to visit sites that accept Google Pay based on user spending history.

Meanwhile, cards are useful for storing digital versions like credit, debit, and gift cards. This is indeed part of Google's big plan against Google Pay. In the future, the service is expected to work across all Google products - including Chrome and Google Assistant.

So, just like Android Pay, Google Pay can be used to pay for public transport in some cities. For example in Kiev (Ukraine), London (UK), and Portland (USA). Of course the function is very dependent on the city and public transportation available in that city.

Google also plans to integrate "Google Pay Send" into the app in the coming months so that users can send money to anyone (friends) using just a phone number. It's a service similar to Venmo or Square Cash service.

What about security matters? Googling through a blog page ensures Google Pay comes with powerful security protection like other Google products. So Google will try to protect your account and personal data from the threat of theft.

Google Pay can be used to pay online on partner sites like Airbnb, Dice, Fandango, HungryHouse, and Instacart. Through the app, users can check Google's use of credence instead of entering credit card information.

This digital wallet app is already available on the Google Play Store and can be downloaded by all Android device users (iOS version is currently unavailable). For those who have Android Pay installed on their device, they will automatically get new apps when updating them.

Google is not the first company to jump into this online payment industry. Apple was the first company to launch a mobile payment system when it released Apple Pay in October 2014 although not yet fully used in the US.

In a report released in August 2017, Goldman Sachs noted that weekly usage for the Apple, Samsung and Google shipping platforms in the US remained low - as one-third of mobile phone owners registered on one of the systems.

Thanks😁
